Unleashing the hidden secrets! Common gas heating faults.

Updated: Jun 16, 2024

Imagine this: you just finished a long day of work and come home to a place so cold you can see your breath! Not the time for the heater to stop working.

Luckily, some faults can be simply reset via the wall control or by unplugging and replugging the power to the unit (power cycle).

Make sure the gas supply is on, the control has fresh batteries (if it uses them), and any filters are clean.

If it's a ducted gas unit, also make sure you haven't closed too many vents. Ideally, you want 70% of the total vents to be fully open.

If the control is showing an error message, be sure to write it down and mention it when you call the professionals (that's us!).

We have attached the owner's manuals for common heating controls, which advise how to reset them.

Brivis actually has this information on YouTube.
